I will be giving each of you, on paper, your password to be able to enter the "Editors Only" section of the Knight Web Site. This password is randomly generated in the process of my adding each of you to the members list as a "Contributing Editor". Everybody in the general public can see our public menus; only Editors can see and use the "Editor's Only Menu."
STEP 1 Go to our school's home page, knight.dpsk12.org (There is no need to type "http://" or even just "www."
STEP 2 Append "/member/login" (without the quotes) to our home page address
STEP 3 Enter your dps email address in the username box, and your editors' only password in the password box. If you click the box "Remember Login?" this may be the only time you even need the password. However, if you do forget your password, you can always enter your email address and leave the password blank. The correct password will be sent via email.
STEP 4 Note the blue "Editors only" menu across the top of the page. Click on " Stories". This creates a new page for you to begin writing.
STEP 5 If you'd like to add graphics content to your page, you can take any *.gif or *.jpg file you have saved on your hard drive, and upload it to the site using the "Pictures" menu. It acts just the same as attaching a document to an email.
STEP 6 Once you upload a picture and give it a name, the page will tell you to write its name in quotes at the point in your story where you want it to appear to insert it into a story.
STEP 7 Click on "Post this Story." Pat yourself on the back and say the magic words, "I can take risks as a learner! I'm in the 21st Century now."
STEP 8 Sent a note to brian_white@dpsk12.org to let me know that you have created something that your would like to have linked to your your name on the faculty page.
